Pallatium

Evander 2. This man, called the wisest among the Arcadians, emigrated to Italy where he founded a city Pallantium, on the banks of the river Tiber. He was the son of Hermes and Carmentis, a nymph skilled in the art of divination. Evander 2 married Carmenta and had a son Pallas 6 who became an ally of Aeneas in Italy. He also had a daughter Lavinia 1 who bore Heracles 1 a son Pallas 7 who died before he reached puberty and after whom Pallantium was called [DH.1.32.1; Ov.Fast.1.471ff., 1.521, 4.65, 5.90; Pau.8.43.2; Vir.Aen.8.52, 8.104, 8.336, 8.511].

Carmenta. Wife of Evander 2, the wise Arcadian that emigrated to Italy. They had a son Pallas 6, who was an ally of Aeneas in Italy [Plu.Rom.21.2; Vir.Aen.8.511].

Patron was an Arcadian who participated in the games held by Aeneas in Sicily, having come to Italy with Evander 2. The patricians in Rome were called after him, because “patricians” comes from “patronage”, which was the word for the protection of inferiors. And Patron was a protector and defender of the poor and needy. He is also said to have guided Aeneas when he crossed the Ionian Gulf from Epirus to Italy [DH.1.51.2; Plu.Rom.13.2; Vir.Aen.5.298].

Potitius. A priest of Heracles 1 in the court of Evander 2, the Arcadian who migrated to Italy [Vir.Aen.8.269].

Erulus. The interesting thing about Erulus is that he had three lives and had to be killed thrice. He was the son of Feronia and was finally killed by Evander 2, the Arcadian who emigrated to Italy and founded a city Pallantium, on the banks of the river Tiber [Vir.Aen.8.563].
